Thoughts for the Week:

If I was a client, I think I’d say: “You asked about what you needed to know headed into a week of travel, socializing, and wrapping up a year’s work. The cards point to the fact that the busy week is both contrary to your nature, (The Hermit, 8 of Cups) but could be tremendously rewarding as you evaluate your year (The Universe), your role as manager of your self and others (The Emperor) as well as assess new ideas (8 of Wands). Pay special attention to moments when you realize that you have taken on too much (10 of Wands) and need to say no for your sanity and energy levels (8 of Cups, Hermit). These could be the key to your personal health as well as larger strategies that will help you as you wrap up this year and head to the next. (4 majors, The Universe, The Aeon.)  ”

1. Sunday (Sun) True Self, Ego, Life Force, Money The Hermit

How you get your life force revitalized: I have been sick most of this last week and while it’s been miserable on a physical level, it’s been great on a mental level. I am tremendously recharged by all the silence. I head out to a conference tomorrow, which is not always my favorite setting, but at least I have a single room!

2. Monday (Moon) Emotions, Changes, Journeys The Aeon

How you get your emotional needs met: In the Thoth, the Judgement card is called Aeon, and it’s about looking critically at things – times, structures, yourself. I wonder if that means that I will continue to be recharged by some careful self-critique.  Given that I am headed to a conference that’s a nice year-end wrap up I think this means that connecting with other people in my field as I wrap up my year will be helpful for realistic self-evaluation and goal setting.

3. Tuesday (Mars) Ambition, Energy, Risk 10 of Wands

How you express your energy. Your drives: This card is all about taking on too much. I think all that self-reflection will point to that.

4. Wednesday (Mercury) Communication, Business Matters 8 of Wands

Your communication style. What stimulates you intellectually: Being around all my professional peers will be fantastic in regard to all kinds of new ideas coming my way. I don’t like big crowds or noisy gatherings, but I do love the exchange of ideas that comes with them!

5. Thursday (Jupiter) Faith, Luck, Abundance The Emperor

How you achieve a sense of faith and optimism: I do like being in charge, and heading to conferences makes me feel like I am master of my own destiny because I can say “I like that idea! We should try that in our office!” Thursday is the day I return to the office after this conference, and I often return feeling like a master of the universe.

6. Friday (Venus) Love, Beauty, Pleasure The Universe

How you express love. Who/What attracts you: This is an interesting card to have here. On one hand the Universe, or World card is about everything. It’s also about coming full circle. The fact that it’s on Friday, the day of love, a day I return home from a year-end conference, I wonder if it doesn’t point to a celebration of some kind.

7. Saturday (Saturn) Discipline, Work, Stability 8 of Cups

Your work ethic. The way you embody discipline: Hmm… this is not the best card to talk about discipline. This card is all about laziness. I do have an inner slacker, and she’s been loving the past few days. perhaps I need to be on the look out of her to get the most out of the conference. Also, it’s a warning that just because everyone else is enjoying the bar, it does not mean you have to!
