Notes on Spread: The Sun jumped out, and seems to be a theme for the week. 2 6’s is a nice sign. One trump, and the court card that always symbolizes my work self on the day that school starts again.

Thoughts for the Week:

If I was a client, I think I’d say: “This is going to be a great week if you can avoid just a few pitfalls. Those 6’s bode well for accomplishment, success, and perhaps a little luxury. If you can count your blessings and keep them in your mind, you will relax a bit even in difficult meetings or conversations with people in power (Empress) and will avoid speaking too quickly like the Knight and regretting your words as the 5 of Swords warns of. You have a chance to be your best self this week – caring and competent like the Queen, independent and idealistic like the Knight. Rest in the abundance of the 6 of Wands and Coins and the warmth of The Sun and you will have a great week. ”

1. Sunday (Sun) True Self, Ego, Life Force, Money 6 of Rods

How you get your life force revitalized: As I write this post the world is asleep around me. Having made a commitment to my blog I’m up early on a Sunday morning to try and get lots done before a hectic week. It seems like a serious step, a big change in how I am viewing my time and what I value. This might be a side gig, but I love it more than my real job right now. It’s the ‘next step up on the ladder’ as the LWB for the Sakki Sakki says.

2. Monday (Moon) Emotions, Changes, Journeys 5 of Swords

How you get your emotional needs met: I sometimes struggle with the 5 of Swords, it often means lots of conflicting ideas – sometimes a productive meeting, sometimes a fight. This could be true for Monday, as I have an all-day meeting to go to and at least some of it I will have a markedly different opinion than most people. The LWB says it’s ‘setting your own rules for behavior’ and I really like that. The dog on the card is moving away from the crowd, doing his own thing. You could see him as stealing, but you can also see him as gathering.

3. Tuesday (Mars) Ambition, Energy, Risk Knight of Swords

How you express your energy. Your drives:  Ah, my old friend. I am often the one who will speak first, and think later like our impetuous young knight. I just get so excited about an idea! And yes, Tuesday brings lot of chances to rush into a discussion without thinking, as that training will continue and then there is a welcome-back party for staff. Perhaps he and the dog are a warning – be yourself, but beware your natural tendencies so you don’t embarrass yourself.

4. Wednesday (Mercury) Communication, Business Matters Empress

Your communication style. What stimulates you intellectually: I love here here. I have a very, very important meeting with my boss’s boss on Wednesday. She is is an Empress in many ways. I like that this lovely lady is on Wednesday, and on a day of Communication and Business Matters. It bodes well.

5. Thursday (Jupiter) Faith, Luck, Abundance Queen of Cups

How you achieve a sense of faith and optimism: On Thursday I get to see my students again – those in my case load, those in my advisory group, those in the grade I am responsible for. Some of the day is Orientation, but some is a workshop I’ve designed. I am genuinely looking forward to it, and the Queen of Cups here is a great sign. When I am my best self at work I am her. It’s an expression of my faith and values to be of service like that.

6. Friday (Venus) Love, Beauty, Pleasure 6 of Coins

How you express love. Who/What attracts you: I think of this card as ‘the beauty way’ and use it as a reminder to float a bit sometimes on the beauty of the day, and count my blessings. I take it as a great sign that on Friday I should relax. With luck the workshop will run smoothly in day 2, and I’ll end the week on a great note.

7. Saturday (Saturn) Discipline, Work, Stability Ace of Coins

Your work ethic. The way you embody discipline: I think, more than anything, this card here is about the fact that the school year is starting. It’s a new year. New patterns, new work. Saturday would be a great time to set some intentions for my work life this year.
