Music for Tarot Readings: Dntel

Music for Tarot Readings HeaderSometimes you need a little help to set the mood for a tarot reading. Music can block out the noisy neighbor, the frustrating day you just had, or simply bring you from the ordinary world into a space of calm introspection. It’s also hugely helpful when reading for others who might be nervous or skeptical. In this series of posts I wanted to highlight the artists and albums that get me all ready for divination.

There is a lot to be said for Enya as background music to a tarot reading. Haunting, soft, vaguely Celtic. By all means. Shepard Moons is a fantastic album that will make many people feel at home when they go into a New-Age shop to get a tarot reading. But what if you’ve heard that a thousand times like I have? Well, then check out Dntel’s Enya Remixes. An artist who normally does sub-pop (whatever that is) but also loves Enya enough to remix her stuff. And get this! It’s free. After all, it’s a remix of Enya’s work, so Dntel can’t profit. It’s a love letter, in album form. The result is a twitchy Enya. If she had a older sister who only wore black. Just the stuff for a reading.
